Repairing things. Building community. Reducing waste.
Repair Café Silicon Valley (RCSV) is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping useful things out of the landfill by encouraging repair instead of replacement.
We organize free community repair events throughout Santa Clara County, bringing together people with broken belongings and volunteers who know how to fix them. From electronics and small appliances to clothing, bicycles, and household items, our volunteers help give everyday objects a second life.
But Repair Café is about more than fixing things. Our events bring neighbors together, encourage the sharing of practical skills, and demonstrate that repair can be an accessible, affordable, and rewarding alternative to throwing things away.
Our History
Repair Café has been part of the Silicon Valley community since 2012, when Repair Café Palo Alto started, followed a year later by Repair Café Mountain View.
In 2023, the two organizations joined forces to become Repair Café Silicon Valley, reflecting our growing mission to make community repair events available throughout Santa Clara County.
Today, we work with public libraries, community centers, schools, local governments, and other organizations to bring free repair events to neighborhoods across the region.
