We have a role to match your skills and interests!
General Fixer
Love solving puzzles across categories? Tackle small appliances, lamps, toys, basic electronics, and oddball items. We’ll match you to repairs you’re comfortable with, and there’s always a team nearby to consult.
Sewing Fixer
Mend seams and hems, replace zippers, patch denim, reattach buttons, and coach clients on care and simple hand‑stitches. Bring your favorite kit; we’ll provide tables, power, and bins for notions.
Bike Fixer
Help neighbors ride safely: flats, brake/shift adjustments, cable tweaks, chain and tire checks, and quick safety inspections. (We’ll flag complex jobs for a bike shop.)
Coordinator
Keep the event humming—greet clients, manage intake and forms, direct flow between triage and workstations, post signage, and help with setup/teardown. No repair experience needed.
Apprentice
New to repair or curious about a specialty? Shadow an experienced fixer, help with triage, tool setup, and parts runs, and gradually take on simple repairs with guidance.
Join our Discord server for volunteers to discuss upcoming events, tools, repairs, and anything else related to Repair Café.
Many employers match volunteer time with monetary donations.

Ongoing Opportunities
Want to see a Repair Café near you? Help organize one! Contact us and we’ll show you how to get started.
Like organizing? Put your skills to the test as a Trailer Captain who will be obsessive about getting supplies back in the right place after events. Bonus points if you can tow the trailer to events!
Can you code? Help build a kick-ass system for checking in guests at our events and matching them with Fixers. This is Silicon Valley after all, we should be living in the future.
